Colours

Stacks and heaps of rainbows lean,

Precariously, with a new-made sheen;

Reds of all shades, ruby, crimson,

Carmine, scarlet, vermilion.

Carts laden with ripe, sweet mangoes,

Summer fruits, oranges and yellows.

Copper and brass, glinting, shiny,

Bells and rings and other jewellery.

The air gleams with laughter yellow,

And colourful chatter, both loud and mellow.

Shades of verdure cool the crowd,

Tourists roam till wonder wears out.

The sky is azure, there are cottons of blue-

Midnight, periwinkle, every hue.

Organic indigo, grown with pride,

Rajasthani cloth tie-dyed.

Violets, purples- fit for royalty

Adorned with silver embroidery.
