Beauty In Beasts
Beauty In Beasts
Travelling is always an unexplored fun,
Interwoven tasks, gossips, food, photos all intended pun,
As my son started to recognise animals and say,
We decided to visit a zoo with him someday,
My husband exclaimed, 'Nainital, a picturesque scene!',
We immediately packed to holiday a keen,
As we went closer, the height made us scared,
Reading of the plethora of beasts, our eyebrows got flared,
We started with swans, lotus amongst the lake background,
Cool breeze and chirping birds accompanying us around,
Bengal tiger, sambar, Himalayan bear,
Our hearts juggling between anxiety and fear,
Searching for water caught panda black and red,
For the excitement and enthusiasm itself, our feet forward led,
Also housing golden kalij, amherst pheasant,
Favouring our visit Lord Indra seem pleasant,
Got tremendous information about species endangered,
Conservation of wildlife in homely space nurtured,
Seems tiring through 2100 km of hill walk,
Bit easier if we keep snacking with a healthy talk,
Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude on Sher ka Danda hill,
Powerpack enjoyment demands strength, courage and a strong will,
Learned a lot about India's rich biodiversity,
A sheltered home for birds and animals among all adversity.
