A Heart Of Gold

One day when I grow old, 

Always remember that i have a heart of gold.

I was broken, crushed and shaken to the core,

But I always had a heart of Gold !!!

I didn't fit in the world so clever and bold,

No matter how hard I tried to take my hold, 

I fell flat on the floor so cold,

But I always had a heart of Gold!

It was never easy to stand strong again,

The sensitive me was beginning to shiver again,

Am I right? Am I wrong?

Clouds of self-doubts hovered in my brain.

People told me that I have low self-esteem,

A new change would start itself in me,

All these years I felt the need to be in a crowd,

But now I stand lone and cold,

As I always had a heart of Gold!

I have a heart that is simple and pure,

Loyalty, trust and dedication I value to the core,

Love & Friendship are my two lifelines,

And without anyone my life would be a barren mine.

I just need your love, I just need your care,

Hold my hand and walk with me,

Let's sit below a tree, See the butterflies flying,

And the birds chirping, your happiness means the world to me !

It's painful to let go, 

Life is to make friends and not foe,

Don't let go of my hand in the rain I stand,

It's never easy to be bold,

All I have is a heart of Gold!
