ADITYA RAUTE

Children Stories Others

A City In Pink

A City In Pink

2 mins 222 2 mins 222

Stepped down in the pink city

Hot winds hitting my face

My excitement and my feet

They began a race

Traversed the city

Atop a horse-cart

Lanes woven around nature

A real piece of art

The bazaar was alive

Silent, yet loud

A cold, still cry incessantly ensued

Lobbying through the crowd

Hustled and bustled The market

Selling delicacies and attires

The youth exhaled cigarette smoke

Satisfying their regal desires

Gardens and palaces add to the town

Bold history and heritage

But the soul of the city seems lost in the mob

Sleeping in an open cage

The pink baileys spread all around

Hold some royal mysteries

Dancing behind the floral facade

With quivering eccentricities

The deep secrets of these walls

Call the lost and wise

Welcome to the city of Jaipur

The wanderer’s paradise
