Happiest Day

I clearly remember my first day of school -

I had worn my favourite frock,

Red, yellow, white and green.

I was happy to leave my home

To make new friends.

But when I reached the school gate

I saw all the kids crying

All clinging to their parents' legs.

I wondered what had happened

And found out I was the odd one out.

My school was a completely new world

With wonderful people all around.

I feel fortunate, I feel blessed

To have spent there fourteen years.
