New Water
New Water
Sometimes life feels like it threw you in new water
Gasping for air before your brain can act smarter
If you've never swum before- insert some fear
What it feels like in the body, being hit by a spear
I am sure if you imagined it well, you'd stop
Reading my poem and reach for the drop
Of your heart in your stomach, feel your tonne heavy feet
And if you go back to your mind, it's not very sweet.
So you reach for that painkiller called your phone
And fill in beauty, money & some shots from a drone
The ache that you feel won't subside
Besides, don't you already wanna book a ride?
To a person, place, animal or thing
That calms in your spirit this unusual ring
Believe me, I've tried
In this year, no rules abide
I'd like to help but I know it's true
The only gift you need is you.
