Sky Lantern
Sky Lantern
And up it goes, straight to sky
Rising high on its flames
Dwindling amidst gust of wind
Unhindered by the cloud dense.
Like a shining star it moves along
Shimmering, shedding all its light
With ethereal glow, up and up
Moving against the slaty sky.
Fighting along all its way
Towards the epitome, shining high
Small and fragile though it may seem,
Burning itself as it ascends and fly.
Spiralling though it may fall
sometimes, off the sky
With all its will, that burns within
It rises again in the windy night.
Extinguished, yet gracefully
descending to earth, kissing the height
Showing us, we all can rise
against the odds, towards the sky.
