My Pal
My Pal
I was deeply in sorrow
When no one was there to care and talk to me
I did not know what to do
I ran helter- skelter
To move out of this depression.
Deep in the back yard
I saw someone holding you
With utmost care and passion
Fully engrossed
Agnostic to the surrounding.
With beautiful rings of cloud
Emanating from you
He held you in and out
Till such time you left him
I thought why not
I make you - my friend too.
I went and picked you
Held on to my hand
You warned and cautioned me
That you are not a good guy
And may harm me
Not only for today
But for ever too.
I ignored your caution
For I felt you were too honest and transparent
Which I had rarely seen in this world
Where before joining hands
Someone tells I’m bad.
Thus that day
I made you my friend
And till date
You continue be with me.
You are so unique
That you are the only one
Whom I can hold
When alone or with others.
You come for Joy
You come for sorrow
You celebrate victory
You relieve stress
You come with me
You come with others
So great and Universal
Companion you are.
I would not want to leave you
Either now or ever
For I find in you
A great friend
Whom I can trust forever
Both in Pain and in Gain.
