Wisdom With Courage

"Mamma, mamma please tell me when we are going to Prashant uncle and grandma's house at Malvan?", Raju is troubling his mother to take him to his uncle's place as he wanted to go for a long distance journey from many days. He often travelled by cars, school bus, bike, rickshaw etc. as he lived in a big city Mumbai. But hardly gets a chance to travel by train. 

One day his father gave him a surprise, their train tickets to his maternal grandparent's place in summer vacations. After that Raju was eagerly waiting for summer vacations. When summer vacations started and one week was remaining to journey, at that time Raju's father got an important and urgent project work due to which he has to cancel his journey. But he insists Raju and his mother to carry on with their vacations plan and enjoy the holidays. 

Finally, it was the day when Raju and his mother was going for a long train journey. Raju was very happy and excited about the trip. His mother cooked and packed some delicious food items for their journey. Raju's father dropped Raju and his mother to Railway Station. Then their journey started. Raju enjoyed peeking out of the window and looking at the trees, vehicles, farms, farm animals, blossoms of flowers etc. Now it was lunchtime so they took out their tiffin to have food but suddenly the train stopped with a jerk. So everyone was looking out what's the matter, why the train is stopped with a sudden jerk? Raju and his mother too peeped out of the window to see what's the matter. Suddenly they heard some shouts of other passengers. Then they came to know that few burglars have entered the train for robbery. All passengers were frightened as the train was stopped at a very lonely place and they can't even ask anyone outside for help. Robbers were having loaded guns, knives with them.

Raju's train compartment was very near where robbers entered into the train. Soon robbers reached Raju's compartments and ordered everyone to surrender their money, jewellery and all valuable things, pointing guns towards them. Suddenly they felt the nice smell of yummy food which was cooked by Raju's mother as they were having their tiffin with them. One of the robber's eye fell on Raju's lunch and his mouth started watering due to that tasty food. He snatched the tiffin and started eating. Sooner all other four robbers join him in lunch. An idea struck Raju's mind when they all were busy having lunch. Actually, Raju brought some mild sleeping pills of his father's medicine kit to trick his mother so that he could go out to play anywhere and swim in the well as much as he wanted. He decided to add some sleeping pills to the curry so that robbers would sleep instantly for a while. As per the plan, he added few pills in the curry when no one was watching him. After lunch, burglars start feeling sleepy. They tried hard not to sleep but due to pills effect, they slept there. The one who ate last was watching all his fellow robbers fall asleep. He started shouting what was happening and took his gun in hand but soon due to pills effect he also falls asleep. 

When they all robbers slept, fellow passengers tied them with a rope and asked: "How did this happen? What was added in food so that all robbers slept?" Then Raju came forward and said, " I have done this with the sleeping pills that I brought with me. I added a few pills in the curry when they were busy in eating". All passengers admired Raju for his wisdom and bravery and thanked him for saving their lives and valuables. His mother asked him about the sleeping pills, then Raju apologized to his mother for taking them to trick her for having fun and swimming in the well for a longer time. Mother forgive him because his naughty trick saved so many lives and warned him not to repeat such a mistake again. Raju agreed to that. 

Then the train started the further journey and stopped at a nearby station where the fellow passengers called the police to catch the burglars. Police caught them and listened about all the incidents. Then they thanked Raju for helping them to catch the dangerous burglars and saving so many lives. They appreciated Raju's wisdom, presence of mind and bravery.
