What Now?

I was rolled up in my blanket with hot chocolate and cookies with my favorite band playing on Spotify. Saturdays have always been my favorite. While other made plans for parties and shopping, I simply sat in my bed enjoying best lone moments. Abhi my bestie tried gloriously to get me out of my bed and plan something for my birthday tomorrow but I won the battle. Reading my favorite novel which I had already read 6 times, I drifted off.

Next day I woke up by the continuous ringing of doorbell. I shouted annoyed - " Abhi, please open the door bro! " She didn't reply. I remember that she's not home, she had to visit her cousin on Sunday morning. I dragged myself out of bed and with sleepy eyes opened the door and just like that my world stopped. Infront of me was HE, a bouquet in his hand and a bright smile on his face. I froze there for a while and all those years came crashing back on me.

I stumbled and felt disgusted about myself that how he still made my knees weak. He wished me birthday and moved forward to hug me. To my surprise, I flinched, like my senses started working with the speed of light. Before he could say or do anything more, I snapped at him and the only words that left my lips were - " What now? " He stuttered as I closed the door on his face shouting - " What now? " again.
