Unforgettable Day
Unforgettable Day
Three years ago, in Dehli, on a Saturday afternoon, something happened that I can never forget. My friend, Maulik was home alone. It was about two in the afternoon that he was bored and so he called me up to come to his house. I asked him what we were going to do, he said we can play the Xbox and have some fun. I was one of his best friends and so I went to his house with another of our good friends called Soumil.
We then went to his house, at first we were just talking and playing Xbox and having fun until around three o'clock. Then we had a nerf war which was extremely fun. When we got tired of everything we just sat down for some time. Maulik's parents were collectors of antique items. He showed us a katana which is a traditional sword of the Japanese, it looked really good and both of mine and Soumil's eyes were stunned. After sitting for some time we started playing hide and seek with a twist. Instead of touching the player the seeker had to shoot him with a nerf gun, the hiders had a small nerf from which they had to shoot a specific target in the living room. We got the idea from a game called 'Call of Duty', the seeker not only had to eliminate the hiders but also protect his base. What he didn't know was which one of us two had the gun to shoot the base. If the hiders shoot the base before the seeker eliminates them, the hiders win but if the seeker eliminates the hiders before that, he wins.
Maulik was good at everything and Soumil was the one who was hungry for the win. Maulik kept on winning almost everything. This made Soumil furious and irritated. After that, he made a mistake which he would remember for the rest of his life.
He saw where the sword was kept and started playing with it. I told him to keep it back before someone gets hurt or something else bad happens, he didn't listen to me. We were hiding in the same spot and he had the sword facing the only possible entrance to the room and Maulik was pretty sure of us hiding there so he tried jumping in unknowingly Soumil had the sword and I screamed telling him not to come in but he didn't listen. The room was closed with a curtain and so he jumped through the curtain.
As soon he jumped in, Soumil moved the sword slightly to the right, if he didn't do that Maulik would probably not have survived. When he moved it to the right facing upwards Maulik moved his face in the opposite direction. That saved him a lot. He got the slightest cut on his arm, it was barely bleeding. Everyone was shocked. Soumil apologized to Maulik and said he will regret this for the rest of his life. Maulik applied a band-aid after washing it and applying antiseptic and he was totally fine. This could have turned into a big tragedy but thankfully nothing serious happened.
