There was a king named Baukas. In his land there was a young but wise judge. He heard many stories about the judge. Some were about his tales where he would solve people’s problems.

The king wanted to see whether these tales were true or not so he set out to discover whether this was a myth or not. Before he went he disguised himself as a simple common man.

On his way, a young man came up to him and said, “My dear fellow, can you drop me to the town square?” Hearing this the king agreed. Once they reached the town square, the young man refused to get of the horse and claimed that it is mine.

The king suggested that we should go see the wise judge. Once they reached to the wise judge’s house, they explained the entire problem to the judge.

The young man said that the simple fellow stole my house meanwhile, the king said that he has stolen my story. Hearing this the confused judge said, “Both of you, leave the horse here and come back again tomorrow.” They both left and arrived the next day. The king asked both of them to identify their horse between several other horses. They both got it correct. Then when the young man went to pet the horse the horse stepped back in fright.

That’s how the judge figured out that the real owner was the king. Soon, the king revealed his identity.

The judge was taken aback. The king asked the judge what reward would you like? The judge said, “No my lord, I’m just happy that you are happy with my work.”
