Breakfast is ready! Mom called out. By the way, I’m Lia, the teenager of Jacob household. Where was I, oh yes,My mom had just announced that breakfast was ready. I rushed down the stairs because I was starving. No! I cried, there were pancakes for breakfast and I hated pancakes. Oh yeah it was Saturday, my brother George’s birthday. Mom must have made them because he loves pancakes. Suddenly,My brother came down skipping happily and sang happy birthday to me. After we all wished him a happy birthday, we settled down for breakfast. We had planned a surprise birthday sleepover for George and his friends.

I was also excited because a few of my friends were coming too. Time flew as we went and bought gifts for George and it was time for George’s sleepover. I distracted him and kept him in a room while everyone came. When he got surprised and everything made sense for him the sleepover had officially started. Before we had started a scary movie, my friends Alicia, Mindy, Kevin and Ron had arrived. We older ones settled down on a corner and whispered to each other while the other children watched the movie. We played some games when it was time to cut the cake.

Soon George had cut the cake and everybody had a midnight feast. My parents got out a little chit and George opened it. It said “dry”. What does it mean ? George asked my parents. It’s a clue where your birthday present is hidden they said. Hmm dry maybe where mom dries our clothes. He went to the cloth line and looked around it. There was nothing. From where did my hair get wet said Kevin. That’s it cried George. It dries hair the hair drier. George rushed to my room into the washroom and pulled out the hair drier where a gift perfectly wrapped was kept beside the hair drier. He tore open the wrapper and was spellbound.

A robot He muttered. It was a robot. I got a robot, I got a robot he sang. Everyone acknowledged the robot but one by one everybody fell asleep. At last George kept the robot in a corner of the room. Goodnight he whispered and in a few seconds the only thing you could hear were snores from the children. Wake up little ones. Dad called out. The children waked up each other and after sometime everyone was wide awake. The children one by one got ready and George went into the room to get his room alone. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Cried George. Me and my friends came running into the room and everybody realised that the robot was missing. I swear this is not a prank shouted George.

I clearly remember that I had kept it in that corner of the room. It’s ok we believe you honey. Mom said trying to be calm. George sobbed as his friends tried to console him. We’ll help look for it. Said Mindy. Thanks I said worried. We all looked everywhere around the house but it looked like no one had a clue where it was. We can look for it in the backyard suggested Ron. Good idea said Alicia but there was no sign of the robot. I’ll go ask the neighbours if they have seen it somewhere Kevin said. It just disappeared I said as a tear went down my eye. Don’t worry we’ll find it they said. Maybe someone stole it. Alicia suggested. We can question the children since they were the only ones here and I’m sure they won’t realise we are suspecting them. Come on I said. When they reached, Mindy suspected that Aron seemed to be acting normal compared to the other children who were starting to cry too. Ron also realised that Kelly was looking kind of nervous.

Ok so Me, Alicia and Kevin can question Aron while Mindy and Ron can question Kelly. Nice plan they said satisfied after they had put the clues together, Kelly and Aron seemed innocent. Now what ? said Mindy. Hmm Mr and Mrs. Jacob can I see the instructions of the robot. Alicia asked. Sure they said. After Alicia read the instructions serval times, she said, I think I solved the case she wondered aloud. How I cried. Calm down let me explain. See the instructions say that if the red button at the back gets pressed the robot can move. So if George had kept it in the corner and h3 was sleeping next to it and as you said, he moves around on the bed sand since the button was at the back, it must have gotten pressed.

Now to find where the robot is, the instructions also say that if the the robot is not off it can go to any direction. It can go left, right, front and back. It can’t go out of the street because the street door was locked and even the house doors but it was high enough to reach the window and since the robot was missing no one realised that the window was broken. It must have went. It couldn’t break through the fence because you need to put a battery if it walks for 20 minuets and the fence is approximately 20 minutes away. So we just need to look left, right, front and back.

You’re a genius Alicia I cried and we spread out and after some looking around, we found the robot! There it was down there out of battery. Everyone thanked my friends and everything was back to normal. George you see, lived happily ever after.
