THE THRILLING THREE

BOOK 1 - THE ESCAPED PRISONER

Mithali, Sanjay, and Gautham have summer holidays! They are planning to have a picnic. Then suddenly, they lost their way and meet the escaped prisoner. They get to know a riddle about it. Then suddenly things are falling into place......

CHAPTER 1- THE PICNIC

"Hurray, its summer holidays!" said Gautham. "It's gonna be a lot of fun to have a picnic". " And it's with our cousin brother, Sunny anna." said Sanjay. " Yup! It is. Ok, let me check our list." said Mithali. "Two tents." (Mithali). "Check." said Gautham. "4 torches, new batteries, 10 tins of food, 8 water bottles, 4 big fruit cakes, 4 loaves of bread, jelly jam and some things to cook in." said Mithali. "Check, check, check, check and check." said Gautham. "But don't we need any spades to dig or something like that?" asked Sanjay. "Oh yea Sonu anna, we do. I wrote it rear of my list." said Mithali. "It is there, so don't you worry." said Gautham." And some chocolates, biscuits and a jar of juice." said Sanjay, taking the list from Mithali. "It's going to be so much fun." "Yes!" agreed the other two. They packed everything ready for their picnic. "Let's call Sunny anna and ask about his packing," said Gautham. "Ok." said Mithali and called him. She put the phone in speaker mode, "Hello, How are you? How is your packing going?" "I have almost finished." said a voice, which all knew. It was Sunny anna. "We have finished our packing and we are fine!" said Sanjay. "Ok, see you after 2 days." said Sunny anna. "Bye." said the others and cut the phone line.

It was always fun with all of them together. One day passed and they were so excited that they could not even sleep. Mithali slept at her cousins, Sonu and Gautham's house. They all talked about their imagination. It was the day before Sunny anna would come and they checked things again. "It is more like camping." said Sanjay. "Yes, it is!" said Mithali. "Leave it, we are going to have fun!". "And that is all we want." said Gautham. "It is going to be smashing!" said all of them together. 

CHAPTER 2- THE BAD NEWS AND MEETING SOMEONE

"I am going to take some Secret Seven and Famous Five books. Is it ok?" asked Mithali. "Ok, Mitto. You can if Sonu anna says." said Gautham. "Ok. We all can read." said Sanjay. "Let's go to the station now!" said Gautham. "I can't wait one more minute!" "Let's go!" said all, together. They planned to go to Arakonam. When the train stops there, they call for Sunny anna. He gets off the train and his mother continues her travel to Chennai. Mithali's mom will pick her up, at the Chennai railway station. The three had wished for things to go as planned.

As the three arrived at the station, a call came. It was Mithali's mom. She said, "Only Sunny anna will come!" and she cut the phone line. Then again she called, "I am going out for an important meeting, so no one can call me for a while, understand?" she said. "Yes!" said Mithali and cut the phone line. She passed both messages to her cousins. They said, "Ok, Sunny anna is coming and that's what we want." 

Then they waited and waited and waited, but no train or Sunny anna came. Then a train came at last, but it was not Sunny anna's train. After 2 hours a call came. It was Sunny anna's mother. She said, "I am very sorry dears, Sunny anna will not come today because his longtime friend called him for a sleepover, which he could not refuse to.”

 "Ok bye, aunty." said Mithali. She told the two about the news she got. They all were very sad. They did not know what to do next. Gautham said, "We should have bought a map." "We can still buy one." said Mithali. "But, where?" "There!" said Sanjay and went to buy one. It was like the dead of the night. "There, a map for you." said the shop keeper and asked, "What are you all doing in the dead of the night?". "Oh!" said Gautham, "We are…." " We have finished our picnic and are going home." said Sanjay and the three escaped out of the station. Then Mithali said, "It is so dark, so no one will be there." Others agreed to her. But to their shock, they met someone. They heard her say "He is not here. I wish he is not angry." The three of them could not make head or tail of it.
