The story of numbers

          

Long ago, in a vast land there lived strange creatures called ‘Numbers’. They were 0, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. Nine were treated like a king whereas 0 and 1 were treated as inferior. Nine would always mock 0 and 1 for not being high in value. 1 was always scared of 9 but 0 still had a ray of hope and used to think “ One day God will turn things over and make 1 and me more than 9.”

0 and 1 prayed a lot to god and God listened to their prayers. God thought “I was thinking of the same thing, why limit the numbers to 9, there should be numbers more than 9 as well.”

So god created a magical hole and placed it right on the spot where 1 and 0 were walking. Before they knew what was happening they fell into the hole with great speed. “ Whoosh Whoosh”. When they came out, they discovered that their bodies were joint. They had become 10. Another magical portal appeared out of nowhere." Bam!” The portal projected clones of 1 and 0 and god appeared before them. He said that there could be infinite numbers after all of the numbers. God went in a gust of hot wind “Fsshh”. The numbers apologized to 1 and 0 that they had bullied them before. 1 and 0 forgave the numbers. After some years, the numbers actually started thinking that their lives were getting boring so they called God again. He listened to their problems and gave them two lines and two dots. He said “You will have to figure out how to use these yourself. Then he disappeared like last time. "Whoosh”. The numbers were experimented and tried and tested until they found that they could Add, Multiply,Divide and Subtract.

With the lines, they could perform Addition, Subtraction, and Multiplication and if you added two dots to a line then you can divide as well. The numbers kept experimenting and discovered Brackets, Of, and many other things. This is the math we know today. Who knows maybe we will get even lesser numbers in the future and they will turn out to be the greatest!
