The Scary Encounter With The She-Devil of Pune, Maharashtra!

Prateek, Rohit and Vineet were fast childhood friends. They studied at the same school, went to the same school, had similar hobbies and even worked very close to each other. All of them stayed in the same posh neighbourhood of Pune, Maharashtra. Even their parents were close friends with each other. So all of the families used to get together on all social occasions. Prateek, Rohit & Vineet were like the 3  Musketeers; except for their sabres and pistols. They were also intensely loyal to each other.

Prateek was the eldest among the trio and he was tall, dark and sported a goatee. He had a very strong personality which he carried with an élan. People liked his straightforwardness and charming smile. Rohit, on the other hand, was quite fair and handsome. He looked like a model and had the body also to prove it. Girls used to swoon over him. But he was the quiet one amongst the trio. He always had a reserved and serene expression on his face. It seemed that nothing or no one could unfaze him at any cost. Vineet, being the youngest, was the bolder one and was the one who was always up for doing wild and crazy things. Being shorter than both of his friends did not deter him from being their close friend. He was also the most aggressive among the trio and fiercely was very protective of his friends. As I was talking about him Vineet being the wild one, there were a few instances where he did things which were unimaginable to anyone. That is the reason his friends called him “Vinnie the Crazy One!” For instance, going out to the sea when it was high tide, walking blindfolded in the middle of the road in front of oncoming speeding traffic! Jumping out of aeroplanes at extraordinary high altitudes at night time! There are many more and it would completely overshadow the rest of the story!

“Yaar, kisi nightclub mein chalte hain.” Vineet said to his friends.

All of them had gathered at his residence on a Saturday night.

One thing which I forgot to tell you is that all 3 of them were even rumoured to chase the same girl! It was during their college days when they were still young. Anyways, getting back to the story.

“Phir se!” Prateek exclaimed.

“Abhi last Saturday& Sunday toh Gaye the.” He said.

“Toh kya Hua. I have found a new place. It’s a bit out of the main city but it's quite a happening place I have heard.” He replied.

“Aur aise baithe main bhudha nahi hona chahta!” He complained.

Prateek laughed out at this. Even Rohit, the quiet one gave a smile.

“Kahan pe hain yeh tera nightclub aur iska naam kya hai?” Rohit asked .

“Arrey, tu kahan iske baato pea a gaya.”

I am telling you this is another of his wild ideas.

“Remember the last time?

Prateek interjected.

“Let us hear him out first.” Rohit calmly replied.

“It’s on the outskirts of Pune-Delhi Highway. The name of the club is ‘Zing Up Your Life’! Vineet responded in an excited tone.

“The name sounds like it has some oomph attached to it!” Rohit exclaimed.

“Yes bro, moreover, I have heard some pretty girls adorn the establishment!” Vineet said in an excited tone.

“Now I understand why you want to go there! Prateek laughed.

“Of Course Bro! Wouldn’t you like to meet new girls?” Vineet asked with a wink.

“That’s all fine but remember we can’t be late. Like the last time, it was a fiasco because of you!” Prateek said in a lighter tone.

He was referring to the last time they had gone out to a club and were completely stone drunk and were also involved in a brawl! This resulted in all of them returning late to their respective homes and having to

face extremely worried parents of all three of them.

“Arrey nahi, aisa kuch bhi nahi hoga is baar.” Vineet assured them.

So finally Prateek feigned reluctance and agreed to go with them. Though he was as excited as his friends. All of them now just to change into their party clothes.

“We will go on one bike,” Vineet said.

“Sure, let’s take your Harley then.” Prateek joked.

“No, you guys will ruin it.” Exclaimed Vineet.

“Ride your bikes.” He grumbled.

“Okay, okay bro, we will not ride your bike. I will take my Suzuki 500.” Rohit laughed.

The journey to the nightclub was also quite adventurous, with Vineet doing his usual childish stunts all along the way and police trying to catch up with them as they zoomed far ahead. They reached the place at the right time, which was 11:00 P.M. The first sight of the club made all of them gasp! It was a magnificent piece of architecture. With crystals and luminescent lighting up to the entrance. The entire building was made from white marble. This gave it an eerie out-of-this-world look! But looking at the throng of people outside the three friends were more than enthusiastic to go inside. One more thing, the pathway to the entrance was covered with small potted plants with colourful party lights blinking them; thus making it more enticing.

“Wow! I never imagined this to be so magnificent!” Prateek exclaimed.

“See, I told you so.” Vineet boasted.

Rohit was still quiet. He did not want to come but he agreed because his friend wanted to come. One thing I should you about Rohit is that he was a much more mature kind of a guy. He never used to jump in on anything without trusting his instincts and he was a hardcore believer in the supernatural and the otherworldly beings. So the whole aura kind of spooked him a little bit but he dismissed it nonchalantly. Knowing that his friends were super excited and happy, he discarded all apprehensions and went in.

“Wow! This is awesome! Exclaimed Vineet.

There was a glint in his eyes.

Even Prateek was forced to reluctantly agree that he was a fool to have argued in the first place.

Rohit was still calm and observant of all the glitz and shiny lights and the super excited, happy faces of the crowd. Some time had passed and all of them were drunk and now Vineet again started grumbling.

“Guys, itni der ho gayi. Kissi pretty girl ke Saath introduction and dance nahi Hua.” He complained.

“Yaar, the party is still going on. You will find someone and maybe you can find a pair of beautiful hot girls for us too!” Prateek encouragingly said.

Rohit just smiled and nodded.

Vineet was still grumbling after an hour as he had not yet managed to get anyone to dance with him. Just then he saw a tall, fair and pretty girl sitting on the opposite side of the bar all alone. He observed her closely.

The girl was wearing a nightgown which was silver in colour. Her dark flowing hair was obscuring her face. Despite that, Vineet could see that the girl had a long angular face, with a deep V-line-shaped neck; deep seductive eyes and full red lips. Her eyes were the ones to which he felt drawn towards. They seemed to emanate a kind of animal magnetism!

I mean, if you had also encountered such a pretty girl; you also would have been mesmerised. It seemed by looking at her that she had appeared out of nowhere, especially these three friends.

“Guys, I have got what I wanted for and wait till I show you my magic.” He said with a wink.

“Arrey, wait. What are you talking about?” Rohit and Prateek asked in unison.

Vineet looked at them with a glint in his eyes and he pointed towards the girl who was sitting at the opposite corner.

She smiled at them.

Both Rohit & Prateek were spellbound by her beauty. They were so mesmerised by her deep eyes and long flowing her that they could not control their emotions and wanted to be the first ones to introduce themselves to her.

“Guys, I saw her first, so I get the first chance. Anyways, you guys are a couple of losers and just wait and watch Vinnie’s charm and magic work on the girl.” Vineet said with a smile in his eyes.

He went over to her.

“Hi, I am Vineet.” He said.

“Hi I am Parul.” The girl said.

“Nice to meet you Parul,” Vineet said. They shook hands.

“Would you like to have a drink with me?” He directly asked as he was too intoxicated with her beauty.

“Afterwards, we can have a dance together.” He added.

Parul looked up at Vineet with her deep eyes and smiled.

“I knew this was coming.” She said.

“What? I don’t understand.” Vineet asked innocently.

“I have been watching you guys from here for quite some time now. I have been anticipating that any one of you would make the first move.” Parul added with a burst of big mischievous laughter spreading all across her face.

Vineet was taken aback by this straightforwardness.

He least expected it to come from her at this moment when he was just trying to impress her!

He looked stumped and grudgingly admitted that she had some kind of mysterious and magical aura around her.

“My friends over there, Rohit and Prateek have been dying to meet you.” He added guiltily.

He pointed over to the other side where Rohit and Prateek were impatiently waiting for him to make their formal introduction with the girl. Now, it's a bit strange, don’t you think that even Rohit had fallen victim to the overwhelming beauty of the stranger girl?

Well, their attraction would prove fatal and dangerous for all three of the friends as we proceed.

Anyways, Vineet introduced his friends to Parul and both his friends were head over heels from the first instance only! This was surprising and funny to Vineet as he thought Rohit would not so easily be bowled over!

Finally, after a few drinks, and getting to dance with Parul, the three of them were so intoxicated; mind you, not with alcohol, but by her beauty, wanted to spend some more time with her. Parul looked at her watch and said “ Oh my God! It’s so late. I have to rush back.”

All three of them were disappointed with this.

“I can drop you if you want.” Vineet hopefully asked.

“No thanks, I have got my car,” Parul replied.

“By the way, this gesture was so nice.” She said and put her hand on Vineet’s cheek.

This was the moment when Vineet was completely seduced by her beauty and an aura of magic which was emanating all around her. The three friends could not realize that there was danger ahead! Right now, they just wanted to be with her.

So they followed her home.

There was someone, an old guy, just outside the club who could visualise the whole affair and prayed fervently that these guys should not fall into her trap. But when he saw that all three of them blindly followed her, he was fearful for their safety and well-being. He even cried out a warning to them but they could not hear him.

“Oh Lord, please protect these three poor fellows.” It was all he could pray for.

Meanwhile, the three of them watched with alarm that Parul’s place was far off from any settlement and a little bit off the highway. This should have rung alarm bells but they were completely entranced by her.

Parul, on the other hand, knew that they were following her. She smiled to herself and exited the car. Then she went inside her house.

Rohit was the first one to notice something odd about her house. He saw that the house was in dilapidated condition. Weeds and wild vegetation were overtaking the stretch of the pathway to her house. Also, all three of them feel a sudden change in the weather and atmosphere. It seemed that the night creatures had sensed some kind of danger. So they had also stopped their nocturnal activities! But the three were too ignorant of all these warnings!

As soon as they entered her house after Parul invited them in, they were unprepared for the biggest surprise of their lives.

They saw that the interior of the house was richly furnished, and bright colours were splashed on all the walls of the room, with expensive paintings adorning all the walls. The ceilings had exquisite chandeliers hanging down with beautiful crystals! The whole room had a different kind of aura. Something

that seemed out of this world!

“Yaar, bahar se to khandahar lag raha tha yeh ghar!” Prateek exclaimed.

“I told you guys that she had class,” Vineet said.

“Anything I can get for you guys. Make yourselves comfortable and relaxed and I will be back in a jiffy.” Parul interrupted with the sweetest smile and seductive fluttering of her eyes.

After a while, while they were waiting for Parul to arrive, they were accosted by a huge black dog!

I mean this dog was huge and it was all bushy and black, approximately 6 feet in height!

This was more than any mastiff, Pitbull, Rottweiler, or Doberman’s height and it weighed around 180-200 kilos, by the looks of it. The scariest thing about the dog was its eyes. They looked like two red burning charcoal orbs! The teeth of this monster were

sharp and long! Even the growl was unearthly!

“What is that!” Cried out the three friends in unison.

They were so terrified of this otherworldly creature as it did not look like a dog, although it had the shape and features of one!

All three of them were paralysed with fear for a few seconds, and then Rohit said “Run…!”

Not waiting for a moment to lose all three of them jumped from the window and started running towards the pathway from where they had come. Surprisingly, the weather had taken a turn for the worse. Winds were howling, and also it had started raining heavily. It seemed that everything was working against them and trying to prevent them from escaping! To make matters worse, the huge beast was also running with huge leaps. Suddenly, they could hear a burst of unearthly laughter coming from all around them!

The next thing they saw just blew them off their feet and they wished that they had never gone out to that club!

They saw that Parul just seemed to float in the air and land directly in front of them as they were about to approach the gate! Only this time she did not look anything like the beauty she had been at the club! She was now all covered in a strange kind of dress. With all that beautiful hair tied up in one long dangling knot! It seemed that there were two strange otherworldly creatures attached at the end of her knot snapping their mouths open fiercely!

Parul’s eyes had turned into two dark cesspools! Her face had turned more angular and her skin had a pale colour. Her lips were deep red and it looked as if she had drunk the blood of someone! All three friends were so terrified and they did not know what to do!

The entity named Parul said “Don’t be afraid. You can all stay with me once you are dead!” With that, she gave out an unearthly shriek.

“Let us go ………..Please!” Cried Prateek.

“What have we done to you?” asked Vineet.

“It's gullible fools like you that I wait for and make my victims.” Parul screeched in reply.

“Once you people see a girl sitting all by herself, you try to take undue advantage of her.”

“And I take advantage of this stupid behaviour of fools like you,” Parul replied.

“But why do you do this?” Rohit pleaded.

“What have we done to you?” He pleaded some more.

“Ask this question to all those arrogant, stupid men who thought that they could impress me by their looks and charm. They foolishly thought that they could take advantage of a girl who is all alone.” The entity named Parul growled.

By this time, other noises were coming from their rear. What they saw terrified them even further!

They saw spirits and apparitions of many young men deformed in their deaths coming towards them asking for help!

“I told you that we should not have listened to this idiot! “Now look, where he has landed us!” Prateek cried out in fear and pointed out accusing Vineet.

“How could I have known that this is going to happen?”

“Anyways, you guys wanted something new. You cannot blame me for this now.” Vineet indignantly countered.

“Guys, we don’t have time for this,” Rohit interjected.

“Think of something to escape from this mess we are in right now.” He added.

Meanwhile, remember the old man we saw a while ago, who we saw standing outside the club and praying for the three friends? Well, he was anxious and worried about their safety that he quietly followed the three friends on his scooty. When he reached the entity’s place he saw a terrible scene unfolding before his eyes. He saw that the three friends were trapped by the malicious entity and they were desperately trying to escape with their lives! He then challenged the entity to turn and face him.

The entity turned and looked at him. It smiled and screeched in a hoary tone. It seemed like sandpaper grating on a metallic surface.

“You again?” The entity said.

“Remember the last time?” It asked.

“You were lucky to escape with your life. Otherwise, the same fate was awaiting you!” It screeched again.

“How can I forget?” The old man said in a distressed tone.

“You killed all of my friends, you witch!” exclaimed the old man.

“Heeheeheeheeeheeeeheeeee……………” Laughed the entity.

“But this time I am not going to let that happen again!” The old man said with a renewed energy in his tone and attitude.

“Hah!........ What can you do?”

“You old man!” the entity mocked him.

Meanwhile, the beast was about to attack the hapless three friends. When the old man saw this he took out a powder of some kind from his bag and muttered something sacred bringing it closer to his mouth, and then flung it towards the beast!

Lo and Behold! The beast whimpered like an injured puppy and vanished into nothingness. The three friends could not believe their eyes. Now, their only hope was that this old guy, who had appeared mysteriously out of nowhere to help them!

The entity was enraged by this that it tried to attack the old man! But the old man was wily and he again took out the same powder from his bag, muttered a sacred mantra and flung it towards the entity!

It was surreal to see the entity thrown back with such force on the ground as the powder hit it. It then bellowed as if it was on fire and then just vanished!

“Go back to the infernal depths from where you have come, you daughter of the devil!” Cried the old man in joy.

Soon after, everything seemed to come back to normal. All the spirits and apparitions had vanished with the entity! The three friends now sighed with relief!

“Thanks, Baba! You have been our saviour!” Exclaimed Rohit.

“I am no one. All that is done and will be done is according to the Supreme One.” Said the old man pointing upwards.

“You should be careful with strangers. This girl or witch has been known to haunt these areas and her victims are gullible, unsuspecting young men like you.” He further added.

“We did not know this.” Vineet, somewhat solemnly said.

“Anyways, now you are safe but be very careful in the future.” The old man cautioned.

“I have lost all my friends to this witch and I know her story. That’s why I tried to shout a warning to you guys also, but you were blindly following her.” He said.

“Never again, we will commit this kind of mistake in our lives.” They said in unison and profusely thanked the old man for saving their lives.

“It’s not me you should thank. Rather, you should thank the Almighty One who has each one of us.”

With that, he took their leave. The three friends also made a pact to never again commit such kind of stupid, dangerous and foolish act in their lives and never again talk about it. With that, they also went their way.
