Aunty Jenny Goldy mouse has come to stay with Jimmy, she says, “ I have a present here,” and gives a box to him. Jimmy mouse opens the box and says, “Oh, thank you! These are great!” Inside, all new and shining, are bright red roller skates. Aunty Jenny Goldy mouse is as excited as can be. There are skates for all the little mice, “And some,” she says, “for me!” The mice skate by the ginger cat, they speed along the lane. The Maximus Squirrel says, “I am dreaming,” and rubs his eyes again. The Honey cat cannot believe that mice can move so fast. He blinks and stares in stock as another mouse goes past. Timmy mouse brings his kite along, it hits Honey on the nose, sue skates so close to Honey cat she rolls across his toes. “You can’t catch us, Honey cat,” laughs in such delight, as Sunny skates round circles and ties up the Honey cat in his kite. All-day the mice are skating, no one cries when they fall over, then they sit and eat their food while the bees buzz in the clover. Jimmy mouse is very, very tired when he puts his skates away, “But I am really very glad,” he says, “Aunty Jenny Goldy came to stay.”
