The Little Duck’s Big Gift

The Little Duck’s Big Gift

One snowy morning, a little duck named Daffy waddled quickly through the forest, a bright red gift clutched under her wing. She had wrapped it herself with care, and she was determined to deliver it to her friend, the old owl, who lived at the top of the hill.

On her way, she met a shivering squirrel. “Oh dear, I’ve lost all my acorns,” the squirrel sniffled. Without thinking, Daffy pulled a small bag of nuts from her gift box and handed it over. “Here, take these. Owl won’t mind.”

A little further, she found a rabbit stuck in the snow. Daffy tugged and pulled until Rabbit was free. In the struggle, the wrapping paper tore a little, but she didn’t complain. “A helping wing is worth more than perfect ribbons,” she quacked.

Finally, she reached Owl’s tree, panting and snowy. She placed the gift down. Owl opened it carefully and found… only half of what Daffy had packed.

But Owl smiled warmly. “My dear Daffy, this is the biggest gift I could ever receive. You shared kindness all along the way. That is far greater than anything in a box.”

Daffy blinked, surprised, and then waddled home with a happy heart.

Moral: True gifts are not measured by their size or wrapping, but by the kindness we share with others.
