The King And The Wise Monkey

Long long ago there was a king. The king's palace was surrounded by a big farm. On this farm there also lived a big group of monkeys. One day the owner of the sheep farm presented the king with a white long furred sheep. This cute furry animal received special attention from the king. There was an old wise monkey in the group of monkeys. When the wise monkey saw this pampered sheep moving in and out freely, he became apprehensive. He thaught," this pampered sheep will one day become the cause of destruction." So he decided to warn the king. He went to the king and said,"Your majesty! It's nice that you love animals very much. But I think this undisciplined sheep will bring destruction to your property."

The old monkey explained " O king! This sheep is not rule-abiding. It even enters the palace without hesitating. One day, this naughty sheep will intrude the royal kitchen and the angry cook will a burning log on this sheep and the thick fur will catch fire. The frightened sheep will run towards the stable. He will role on the heap of straw to save himself from the fire. The dry straw will catch fire ad the fire will spread all around, causing large scale destruction. The king firmed and said, "go away from here you evil creature! Never come back again on my farm." One day it happened exactly as the old monkey had said. When the old monkey got the news of the brutal killing of his friends.

He decided to teach the unwise and cruel king a lesson. one day he went to drink water from a lake in the jungle. As he dipped his hand inside the water, a water demon came out. He caught hold of the monkey's hand and said," I am hungry, I want to eat you." The intelligent monkey said, "you will not get much satisfaction by eating a small monkey. But if you co-operate with me I can arrange a big feast for you." The monkey reached the palace wearing the diamond precious necklace. He said, "I have got this necklace from a lake. There are many such necklaces present under the lake. If you want, I can take you there."

The king was overjoyed to listen to this. He took both of his sons and a few ministers and close ones and proceeded towards the lake. The king ordered both of his sons and other relatives to jump into the water. At once everybody jumped inside and the water demon, who was waiting inside attacked them and gulped them. The monkey said," O cruel king! One day you killed my kids and friends due to none of their fault. I am happy that I could take revenge for that."
