There once lived a girl named Meghna. She was a cheerful girl with brown hair which were a little curly. She loved ginger milk! But she had one weakness, If something disappointed her, she would never EVER try it again…..

One day, she sat down to drink her ginger milk at 6:00 which her grandma made….. She drank and she immediately spat it. Her grandma had forgotten to add ginger to her milk! It was just plain! Meghna was infuriated at her poor grandma, but she did not show it. She merely thought that now she would never drink her milk.

But what would she do with it? Her grandma and parents would notice if she left her milk in the glass and would scold her. 'What should I do with the milk?', thought Meghna, frowning. Then an idea came to her. Of course! 'I will slip the milk in the drain!', she thought, simply delighted with her 'bright' idea. So, every day, she would pour the milk in her drain and comment every day how delicious the milk had been. This continued for a few days. Then, her grandma suddenly remembered that she had forgotten to add ginger. 'Hmm….' she thought, thinking about Meghna's ways. Meghna wouldn't have liked the milk and she would NEVER even think about tasting the milk after she did not like it…. So what was she doing with it? 'I will see what she is doing for myself. I really do hope that she isn't wasting the milk.' she thought to herself pensively.

So, the next day- at about 6, she went to Meghna's room and peeked into it. Aha! There she was! 'She is wasting milk!' he grandma thought in horror. 'Meghna!' she called loudly. Meghna turned around in surprise and dread and almost dropped the glass. 'What are you doing?' her grandma demanded. She tried to look innocent-'N-nothing!' she stuttered. 'Don't put on that pretense, Meg,' her grandma told her sternly. Meghna, close to crying now told everything to her in a voice barely above a whisper. 'I am sorry,' she concluded, looking down at her shoes. 'It is okay, dear.' her grandma said, her heart softening on how much the girl seemed to be sorry. 'But you must promise me, Meg. That you will never waste milk and if something ever fails you, keep trying it again. That is the way of life, you see.' Meghna nodded and came forward to hug her grandma. She hugged back tightly too.
