The Enchanted Piano

Once upon a time, there was a witch named Cackles. She was neither good nor bad. She enjoyed enchanting objects and selling them in a market.

One day when Cackles was enchanting random objects, she accidentally enchanted a piano. She didn't realize it until she pressed a key. To her surprise, it started playing a melodious tune all by itself. Cackles was very happy with herself. A few days later she took it to the market.

"Buy a wonderful piano for only 5 pieces of gold!" she said at the top of her voice. A little girl came to the shop with her mother. "How much for the piano?" the mother asked."5 pieces of gold", Cackles replied. They paid the money and took the piano. When they reached home , the girl pressed a key on the piano. To her surprise, it started playing a wonderful tune. Her mother asked, "Is that really you?". "Yes", the girl replied.

Each time a visitor came, she would press a key on the piano and make everyone believe she was really good at playing it. One day she decided to enroll herself for a music competition. She did not realize that she couldn't use her own piano. On the day of the competition, she walked up on the stage very confidently. She pressed a key on the piano but nothing happened! Tears started pouring down her cheeks and she fled from the stage.

When her mother asked her what happened, she confessed: "The piano was enchanted, I wasn't really playing all that". All the people she fooled were very upset with her. From that day on, she never lied again.
