The Detective Meow

In a village, there were two friends, a dog and a cat. They used to work together from morning till evening. They were running together on the road, playing together in the field and walking together in the garden. At night, both of them were working as watchmen in the village where they lived. The friendship and bravery of the two are discussed throughout the village.

One morning a jackal came and saw that the cat was sleeping comfortably on top of the dog. Seeing the friendship between the two, he also wanted to be friends with them. But as the time of sunrise was approaching, he did not stop there and ran straight to the nearby forest.

The next morning, hearing the sound of the dog, the cat sleeping on the roof of the house ran to the dog. He saw that a big thorn was stuck in the dog's leg. The cat tried hard to remove the thorn but could not. At the same time, a jackal was passing through the road. The jackal pulled out a huge thorn from the dog's leg and begged them both to befriend him. They both accepted the jackal's request and accepted him as their friend because he had helped them in danger.

Every morning the jackal was coming to the dog and the cat. The three were playing happily. Before sunrise, the jackal was fleeing into the forest.

At noon that day, while the dog was sleeping in the yard, the cat came and said that for about a week, one chicken has been stolen from their colony every day. Hearing this from the cat, the dog was surprised. Who has so much courage? Who steals the chicken from our colony? The sad thing is that everyone is blaming the two of them. Because people believe that in the presence of the two of them, no thief can break into that colony. The dog felt ashamed. Thought I'd be a little more vigilant tonight. Let's see who is stealing the chicken. Even the cat was alert and promised to be active all night. Both of them got ready to keep watch in the night.

Throughout the night, the dog and the cat patrolled the entire colony. Early in the morning their friend Jackal also arrived. The three stood guard together. The jackal ran to the forest before sunrise. The dog and the cat, being sleepless all night, went to their places to sleep.

After some time the news came again from the colony that four chickens were stolen at the same time that day. The dog and the cat lost their sleep. They spent the whole day trying to figure out what they had done wrong. Finally, the cat said that only in the early morning they were not so alert because their eyelids were starting to close due to sleep, but the rest of the time they were very active and alert. The dog said that no thief would have come at that time, because then their third friend the jackal was alert and awake. The cat used to watch the CID series every day sitting on the sofa with its owner, so many questions kept arising in its mind. 

Before the evening watch, the cat was looking around, and his eyes stopped at the place where the dog's leg was stuck with an acacia thorn. He rushed to that place and thought for a while in silence that if there was no acacia tree anywhere in his colony or in his village; So how did acacia thorn come? After thinking for a while, he found that the acacia thorn had not come to that place by wind or any other natural means; Someone had sown thorns at that place by planning. And it is also true that no one else but the dog and the cat go to that place. This means that the fork was placed at that place for both of them. The cat immediately went to the dog and whispered something to him. Then they both went around and looked at every place where chickens were being stolen. They could not find the thief's footprints at those places because they had been erased by everyone's footprints. However, they knew that the theft was not committed by a human but by a wild animal. Because everywhere there were feathers of chickens and a few drops of blood. If a person steals, there will not be a drop of blood; Humans do not eat raw meat. The cat asked the dog if he smelled anything strange in those places. The dog didn't mind the smell; Because he could not smell any fourth animal other than those three.

That day they kept awake the whole night. Early in the morning the jackal also came and started monitoring. But that day a complaint came that two chickens were stolen. The cat deeply analyzed all the incidents and found the real thief. But the cat did not tell the dog about it and advised him to sleep all night till their friend Jackal came. When the jackal came early in the morning, They three started playing together. The jackal ran away before sunrise.

Fortunately, no chickens were stolen that day. Everything that was happening was what the cat had thought. He came to know that early in the morning when he and the dog were sleeping, the jackal was stealing and eating the hen. He also came to know that the jackal had brought a thorn of acacia from the forest and planted it there to befriend him. Although the simple dog smelled the jackal at the places of theft that day, he believed the jackal and did not find it strange. But the cat thinks he's a great detective, and sometimes even says, "Hi! I'm Detective Meow." That's why he was always suspicious of the jackal.

The next day they set a trap in front of the hen house where many hens lived and they slept the whole night. When the jackal came early in the morning, the cat and the dog asked him to keep watch, saying that they had not slept the whole night and pretended to be asleep. After some time, when they suddenly woke up after hearing the voices of the people, then the boys of the colony were pulling the jackal by tying a rope around his neck and legs, beating him.
