The Best Earth Day Ever

We celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd. I never realized the real purpose of commemorating this occasion. We abuse natural resources out of need and greed. Yet somehow we diligently take an oath that we will protect her. There is so much contradiction in our actions and words. People tend to put a picture of themselves in one of the tourist attractions or amidst nature. Does this justify our actions that we did to pollute and contribute to its destruction? The worst part is that we never realize the impact we do. We ignorantly assume that only cutting down of trees and industrial smoke are enemies of the environment. The current lockdown has been detrimental to the human race and placed us in lockdowns. However, it has allowed the earth to heal itself. The environment is undoing the damage without human intervention. In my opinion, this is the best earth day ever. It doesn't know what will happen by next earth day, but I do know that this might be my last post.
