It was Friday 13th and Halloween on the same day. Such a day comes once in 666 years. A group of friends Lily, Ruby, Tim and Abdallah planned to visit an abandoned mansion about 3 km from the town. The locals of the town referred to the mansion as “The Devil’s Habitat”.

The squad had set for their adventure at midnight. Tim and Ruby carried sleeping bags, blankets, mosquito repellent and cameras.

Lily and Abdallah carried snacks and first aid. They had rented a van to travel the distance.

When they reached the gigantic iron gates welcomed the intellects. In front of the modern machine laid a huge body of cement, worn out for settling.

Tim parked the van in one corner, later the adventurers stepped out for the quest. In front of them was a tree without leaves all dry, it’s branches were as if the boney fingers of an old lady reaching out for you. On the other side of the mansion was a broken swing that moved at a steady pace by the wind. Lily appreciated,” What mighty power does the nature have, able to move the block of wood just by a soft breeze”. ”Stop being so poetic”,teased Tim. The squad looked up to the two-storey bungalow and set in motion to reach for the door of the mansion.

It wasn’t an easy task for them to open the door,it had been rusted for it stayed still for decades. The door opened with a creek noise which creeped Abdallah. Ruby laughed for she was convinced he was a ‘scaredy cat’.

The brainies was explored by each and every room.

All of them empty, as if the previous owner had evacuated the area before leaving. Since no one found anything anywhere they decided to spend the night sleeping and the next morning returning. If they don’t reach their houses by their curfew their electronics will be taken away.

They next morning Tim and Ruby were the first one to wake up. They were woken up by the sound of tinkling ankle bells. It was 6 in the morning so it was still dark. Ruby later noticed a bundle of pictures. “Did you take any pictures last night “,asked Ruby. Tim replied negatively. Clouds of worries and fear conquered their minds. ”If no one clicked pictures then what are these?”, demanded Ruby. Tim made everyone alert of the circumstances, the others woke up to a surprise. Everybody checked the standstills and astonished they quickly asked to flee.

The squad set off their van and in an hour or two they reached.

Everybody was too disturbed by their spine chilling experience that they did not even want to investigate the bungalow. Abdallah didn’t sleep well for a week. Lily suggested to forget everything like it was nightmare and move on to reality.

After months of prayers and devotion they were able to get over the fear. The squad only focused on studies and no thrills. Thia was their end to the breathtaking adventure.
