SWAMIDAYANAND SARASWATI
SWAMIDAYANAND SARASWATI
"What is crucial in dealing with loss is not to lose the lesson. That makes you a winner in the most profound sense"
Born on 12 February 1824 i.e. the 10th day of Purnimanta Phalguna month as per Indian tithi, this great Parton, often
referred as Maharishi Swaraswati. Maharishi Dayanand was born to fortuitous parents who will be remembered for him till the Doom. His father Karshanji Lalji Kapadia , a Shaivite, and his mother Yoshadabal ,an auspicious lady, had a great salutary effect on him.
Life of him is really assiduous to elaborate and finding the inner essence of his life is really tough for me. But the lion man's glimpse might be drawn out with diligent labour. He begun his education when he was a 8 year old juvenile.
His questionnaire mind always made him to ponder "What is Life?" and even questioned the power of God. Amidst the time of his education, his uncle and sister died of Cholera. Really, after that he begun to question the real meaning of life. He didn't marry and left home in 1846. He left all the luxuries of life and started living as an ascetic searching for truth of life. A vivid reasonable comparison can be drawn with him to Prince Siddharth. He wandered for about 25 years amidst the forests, doing penance and yogas till he came across a Guru, a real tutor, who really made Swami to be known as Swami. Yes, a blind man and a celebrated teacher i.e. Shri Virajanand Dandeesha. He followed his guru's real aspect that Hinduism and its practices had become impure. A submissive and bold student Dayanand promised his Guru that
he would work till his death to restore the values and ideals of Vedas and Hinduism. He believed that Hinduism had diverged from its own real identity and had been corrupted by priests.
He, that's why founded Arya Samaj whose principles are as that of Krinvanto Vishwaryam. His ideals was to create a new nation. His most notable urges were to stop idol worships , animal sacrifices , pilgrimages, priestcraft,
casteism and child marriage. He also severely criticized many persons who overwhelm people by their corrupted practices. He stood against sorcery and magics and even astrology. His real objective was to do any task that should be
beneficial to mankind. Swami,a Vedic expert took part in many religious debates and earned respect for it. His message of "back to Vedas " really provoked many to come back to the track of Aryans.
After all, Swami believed a firmed setback for people of India. He really criticized many religions and it's followers for not following the real aspect the religion teach them i.e. The Love for Mankind. Swami was often tried to be assassinated by either poisoning him or forcibly drowning him, but really he was saved every time because of his yagnas and parnayamas. This really motivates us to do yoga every day and save us from ill and disorders.
As some reports say, he died because he was made to drink glass laden milk made by his own cook. At last, the end of era came. Maharishi died on 30 October 1883. But, during his lifespan of 59 years, he inspired directly many and his words and deeds will inspire the future. Many notable persons like Mahatma Hansraj, the founder of DAV group of institutions, Swami Shardannad and many more. His first call for swaraj "India for Indians" was took up by Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
Even the then President S. RadhaKrishna called him "makers of modern India" His famous work " Satyarth Prakash" i.e. literally meaning appearance of truth proclaimed the real values of life and ideas that required to be changed in this modern world.
At last, an individual should learn from him how to respect others and their religion. Moreover mothers and sisters of this world treated and given respect so that they can lead their life on their desire. Most importantly , Education is the only power of development and no should be deprived of this vital right. We are proud of being a part of DAV which follows the aspect of Swami.
The yagnas are reality of peace and make this world pure and fill it with positivity. The yoga , again, a vital power which not only makes us stay fit and fine but also lowers our agitations and brings peace to our
minds. True human is a social creature who proudly boasts his own culture and language and mean pays respect for others. Swami really followed these ideals and we as students must adhere to as we are the future of our country.
A well built career with good behavior is always fruitful for society. At last I end my short description about Swamiji by saying his famous quote:" The greatest musical instrument given to a human is his/her own voice.
Jay Hind!!!
