Stranger In A New Land

Harjit was leaving India to go to France as his dad had been transferred there as a senior editor for an international magazine. Harjit was not happy to leave his friends behind, but he remembered his dad saying that while he was not ready to leave India there were many of his friends who would do anything to go to France. He sat in the taxi and looked out of the window seeing everything very carefully as this was probably his last time seeing these things. during the flight to France too, he was very quiet and remembered his best days and friends of India. While waiting near the conveyer belt for the bags to arrive, his dad told him to wait and pull out the bags from the conveyer belt while he went to the washroom. He started glancing at all the bags that were coming towards him and suddenly saw a boy looking at him from the other side of the belt which seemed to discomfort Harjit. He tried looking away from him and that's when he saw their bag on the conveyer belt and started pulling it out.

After pulling it out he glanced towards the other side of the conveyer belt to see the boy but he was no longer there. Harjit and his dad then went to the place where they were supposed to reside. His dad told him to go to school the next day to enroll for the ongoing semester. The next day he saw the boy that was looking at him weirdly at the airport. The boy started walking towards him. After talking to him, Harjit understood that the boy had gone to India to do research for his school project and that his bag was taken by somebody else at the airport and had not returned it yet. Harjit understood that boy's problem and helped him with his research again. Harjit had never imagined that he would enjoy and make friends so fast in a foreign country. He was very happy!
