My Eid

Eid is the most important festival celebrated by Muslims around the world. Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid is a festival that marks the end of the month of Ramadan. 

On the day of the Eid, I dressed up in new clothes and offered special prayers for peace and prosperity of all. Then I wished everyone "Eid Mubarak"

Some of the special dishes like Biryani, kheer, sewai and sheer khurma are prepared during the festival. They are served amongst the family members and relatives. I completely relish these dishes.

On this day, children are the happiest. For them, the day is one of the most exciting days. Children are given money or "Eedi" by the elders (Eid gifts). I too received "Eedi" from my maternal grandparents. It was a huge amount.

I love Eid because it is a festival of joy and thanksgiving. It is a festival which gives the message of kindness, sympathy and brotherhood. It is a festival of love and compassion.
