Moonlit Dreams

Moonlit Dreams

Every night, when the village grew quiet and the lanterns dimmed, Arin would slip out of his little house and stand by the lake. The moon hung low, bright as a lantern in the sky, and its reflection shimmered in the water like a doorway to another world.

Arin had always believed the moon carried dreams. He whispered his wishes into the night air, hoping the glowing light would catch them. One evening, as he stood by the water, something magical happened. The moon’s reflection rippled, and a silver bird soared out of it, glowing like starlight.

“Follow me,” the bird sang.

Arin, with wide eyes, stepped onto the moon’s reflection, and to his surprise, he did not sink. The surface held him like glass. Step by step, he crossed the lake until the bird led him to a hill bathed in golden light. There, Arin saw three moons rising, each holding a dream—one of courage, one of kindness, and one of joy.

“You may take one,” the bird said.

Arin thought hard. Courage would make him strong, joy would make him laugh, but kindness, he knew, could spread to everyone in his village. He reached for the moon of kindness, and it glowed in his hands.

The next morning, he awoke in his bed, unsure if it had been real. But when he smiled at his neighbor and helped her carry water, she smiled back, brighter than the sun.

Moral: True dreams shine brightest when shared with others. 🌙✨
