Mission Wake Up

Gender is created by us and sex is biological phenomenon. Only this sentence got fixed into the mind of Nidhi ,after attending a seminar on “woman in Gender and woman and gender” . She was enlightened after accumulating so much new information about woman and Gender. She was so much exited that she began to plan to organize an event in her community ,she believed after getting such scientific and evident knowledge , there would be a certainly a shock in belief system of people around woman and gender.

She planned this event and invited some senior citizens, teachers, college students and local woman. She called this event “mission wake up” . She prepared well and did enough publicity for this. She was very much enthusiast about Mission wake up. The final day arrived and Nidhi welcomed all guests , there were sixty five persons in that hall , almost full ,among those sixty five there were 49 women. She was very much optimistic about the success of mission wake up. She explored the stereotype thinking like role of girls and boys in family ,and family would have to take initiative to be change maker and inculcate seeds of equality of gender since childhood. She proved with various example that women have more strength , more nature of cooperation , more smart in decision making , more brave in adventures. She shared all contemporary example of women success. All praised Nidhi’s presentation and had a brightness in their eyes after listening this victory saga of women.

An old fashioned man stood up and asking permission for asking some questions, Nidhi welcomed that man and invited than man on to the stage. That old man addressed the public -it is true that women have more tolerant, sensitive and cooperative creature but I had some doubt against it , when women have such distinct features then how our history remained patriarchal social structure all over the globe, man dominant history and all wars and kingdom related to man success stories except some exceptional case. We would had to think on it seriously that how less smart ,less sensitive ,less cooperative ,less tolerate man pushed out of ground every where in all span of history. You can count number of M.Ps and M.L.As or powerful women on fingers, Are they really representing the billions of women?

Nidhi was puzzled and thought why this man came on the stage and vanished all aura of her lecture. Now again all participants began to think that man is superior to woman. Nidhi had no answer for these arguments. Nidhi stopped this man and claimed that we were running short of time so we wind up our session here and thanked to all for coming in mission wake up. All participants began to go ,Nidhi moved further and called that man and asked him ,”why did he not support her in this good cause? If you had such questions then you should have met me separately and we surely discussed on it. It was need of the hour that women of our society would wake up and realize their true potential and became the partner of human success not just followers.

Old man replied that I totally agree with your concern and really I wish to support you, actually I was helping you on raising such questions. I saw poster of mission wake up and canceled my all scheduled work of today and came to attend this function. You did really very well , but my concern is that this mission wake up should not get lost in a one day event, what would you achieve from a single successful event, issues are very much rooted and continuous effort and planned strategy is required for this work. You just attended one seminar and started your effort, I wished that you brush up more your knowledge on gender , you get more knowledge so that you would never disappointed and always get success. If today this event remained unquestioned then you replicate this only and not go for further investigation on this issues. Suddenly old man realized that he was in make up costume so Nidhi could not recognize him. He told Nidhi wait for five minute and returned after washed all make up, Nidhi surprised to see Mr. Kulkarni was there, Mr. Kulkarni was the person who was speaker of that seminar which was attended by Nidhi, after listening him on gender she was organized all this.

Now Nidhi was filled with brightness again and said that Thank you sir, You taught me a great lesson today , with half knowledge how far can I go? I get my vision that I would work for mission wake up and enhance my knowledge and skills so that I accomplish my vision. I would be always with you, Nidhi, society would sure wake up ,keep on mission wake up. – Congratulated Mr. Kulkarni.

Nidhi started her research work to find out answer of this question that “how did it happen that in the one species whose success depends above all on cooperation, individuals who are supposedly less cooperative (men) control individuals who are supposedly more cooperative (women)? and started sharing her wisdom among society.
