It had been 12 long years since Sarah had last seen her childhood friend, Emily. They had been inseparable growing up, always playing together and sharing their deepest secrets. But then, Emily's family had suddenly moved away, leaving Sarah heartbroken and alone.

Over the years, Sarah tried to keep in touch with Emily through letters and emails, but they always seemed to get lost in the abyss of the internet. As time went on, Sarah began to accept that she may never see her friend again.

That is until one fateful day when Sarah received a mysterious letter in the mail. The handwriting was familiar, and as she read the words, her heart skipped a beat. It was from Emily, asking to meet up after all these years.

Excitement filled Sarah as she arranged to meet Emily at their old childhood haunt, the abandoned amusement park on the outskirts of town. As she made her way through the overgrown paths and rusted rides, a sense of nostalgia washed over her.

When Sarah finally reached the meeting spot, she saw a figure standing in the shadows. It was Emily, but she looked different. Her once bright eyes now seemed dull, and her skin was pale and lifeless. Sarah's heart sank as she realized something was not right.

As they embraced, Sarah noticed a strange smell emanating from Emily. It was musty and rotten, like decay. She tried to brush it off, convincing herself that it was just the old abandoned park playing tricks on her mind.

But as they began to catch up, Sarah couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the air. Emily's speech was slow and disjointed, as if she was struggling to form coherent sentences. And when she smiled, Sarah noticed that her teeth were yellowed and crooked, a stark contrast to the perfect smile she remembered.

As they wandered through the park, Sarah began to sense a presence following them. Shadows danced at the corners of her vision, and whispers echoed through the empty rides. Emily seemed unfazed by it all, almost as if she didn't notice.

Eventually, they made their way to the old funhouse, a place they used to spend hours exploring as children. As they ventured inside, Sarah felt a wave of dread wash over her. The mirrors reflected distorted images of themselves, and eerie laughter filled the air.

Suddenly, Emily turned to Sarah with a sinister smile on her face. "Do you remember our pact?" she asked, her voice icy and hollow.

Sarah felt a chill run down her spine. The memories flooded back to her, the promise they had made in that very spot so many years ago. A promise to never leave each other, no matter what.

But as Sarah looked into Emily's vacant eyes, she realized that her friend was no longer the same. Something had changed in her, something dark and malevolent.

And as the funhouse walls began to close in around them, Sarah knew that she was facing a horror beyond her wildest imagination. This reunion was not what she had hoped for, and now she was trapped in a nightmare with no way out.

As the darkness swallowed them whole, Sarah whispered a final plea for mercy. But it was too late. The spirits of the abandoned amusement park had claimed their souls, forever binding them in a twisted reunion after 12 years.
