Letter From Past To Present

Dear Present,

First of all, I want to apologize for all the pain I have caused you, for all the mistakes I have done. But I must say that you are no different. Yes! you read it right! All the mistakes which I did in my 'Present', you are repeating them. Do you remember what we had decided? we had decided that you will let go all the things happened earlier and you will focus on yourself. But what are you doing? You are focusing on Me! The things which happened with me are long gone and you need to accept this. Your overthinking and mourning about them is not going to help. This will neither change anything that happened to me, nor it is going to bring me back to your place! Those scars are going to be there on me, now it's up to you whether to let those scars go down with me or to have them on you till you join me. Believe me, when you will take my place, you will regret what you are doing right now and at that time there will be nothing you can do, but watch your successor leading to the same life that you lived. A life of Misery!

I can't see you burdened from carrying my weight on your back. You need to let me go. I want you to learn from my mistakes, don't carry their burden instead. If you still want me to be with you on every step, then there are many other things you can focus on. Focus on happy memories. Focus on how I got up after falling. Focus on how I succeeded against all odds. Focus on the targets which I had placed for your better 'Present'. If you face any hard time during this, I will be there to teach you, to guide you, to uplift you. This is what my 'Past' did with me, but I didn't give much attention to his advice and here we are now! I was too much afraid of letting him go, I embraced him so tightly that, I didn't get much time to live in my 'Present' and for making your 'Present' better.

I want you to think about this carefully. If you keep embracing me like this, I afraid the 'Future' will not like this and he may not come to you in the way you want him to come. He will be just an advanced version of your 'Misery', to be precise my 'misery', carrying the burden of both of us and then all you can do will be to write a 'Letter' like this. Why not change all of this when 'Time' is still on your side?
