When Harsh took admission into engineering last year he knew he had achieved his dream. Soon he would be employed with a lucrative package and life would be all settled for him. Although he was a very bright student in academics he never tried to help anyone in his class. He would maintain distance from the students who would get supplementary in the semesters. Today they were writing their 5th semester exams. Their use to be three categories of students in the college. One belonged to the topper’s category who would always get a CGPA of over 9, the second would belong to the average category and their CGPA ranged from 7-8.5.

The third would barely manage to pass the exams by relying on the internal marks given by the college or resorting to unfair means such as carrying chits, copying from others during the time of exams. The good students including Harsh always felt extremely annoyed over the invigilators for not inspecting properly and allowing the third category to do unscrupulous activities during the exams. It was the third day of their 5th semester exam. They had Computer Networks today. In the second hour of the exam, a group of people got inside the classroom. They appeared as if they were a Special Investigation Team sent by the crime branch like they showed in movies. They were lead by a young man, completely dark and shabby in his appearance. He looked mendaciously at all of them. Suddenly he stopped by a boy sitting in the third row and screamed in a loud voice, “Get up. Take it out. What all are you carrying. Just show it up without wasting my time.”

The boy started shivering with nervousness, his name was Piyush. He had been constantly getting supple in every semester. He spoke shakingly, “No sir, I am not carrying anything.” The young man hit the table hard and started searching inside the pocket of his clothes and all around his desk until he came across a piece of paper lying abandoned on the ground. The man picked it up and immediately took the answer script of that boy into his custody. The other people who had got in with that man simple stood behind and watched patiently as if they were letting a dog squad do their assigned task. Harsh watched it all unfold in front of him, from the last bench of the third row. Nobody could really figure out what was happening.

The man took Piyush’s answer script and went away. “But sir, I did not do anything,” he begged and pleaded in a lamenting voice.

Later it was told to him that university had sent a team of externals who were checking students for any unfair resorts during exams. Piyush had been given an RA that means he was Reported Against and had now will be getting a year lag. On knowing this, all the students became really very upset.

Harsh was extremely affected by this incident. He knew that the piece of paper was just lying ignored on the ground for a long time and Piyush had nothing to do with it. He was absolutely shaken by the behavior of that man who had treated Piyush as if he were a criminal and charged him with a harsh penalty. That day, Harsh decided that he will help out Piyush and stand by him throughout his journey. He started helping out Piyush every day during the practical classes and after the lecture periods. He shared his notes and helped him prepare each and every subject for the upcoming semester. In the process, Harsh realized that he was also getting good revision of the subjects while teaching Piyush.

In the sixth semester exam, Piyush did really well. He scored a CGPA of 8.4 and was now extremely grateful to God because had that incident not taken place, maybe he would not have been the student he was today.
