January 26 & Ambitious Anatha

Today surprisingly getting up so early, it's really an exception in the usual routine of a person!! And getting up from the bed, observing the scenic beauty of sunrise at about 5.45 am in winter season where it is said that in Northern Hemisphere there is much more cold in January month are unusual. It is usual in most of the persons to get up by 6 am. But it is not usual routine to a unique one whose brief description and reason of waking up so early are today's discussable subject.

One and only child from a lower middle class family... gets up late from the bed and also goes to bed late since last two year, usually busy with study from the childhood for parents' strictness and training. There is no role of any extra curricular activities and even of cycling in that life. Generally no obligation for doing household works in that life. But she is not a 'papa ki pari' type child. Yes, I am talking about a parents' obedient girl named Anatha. 

But strangely Anatha is a boy mentally in spite of her female physical structure. Rather it is better to say that she wants to be a boy, her DreamWorks are like boy, her emotions are not like a girl also. In a nutshell, she is not a typical talkative lady. She is very very reserved to the whole world except to her mother. In fact she is not free to her own father though he is both reserved and strict person, in a word rough and tough and conservative person. May be due to this reason she did not get any opportunity to participate in any extra curricular activities. Although she loves to do those activities more than study according to her self evaluation after her 10th board exam, she cannot get any opportunity and she can't do anything skillfully.

But "Patriotism" can never be suppressed even if something else like extra curriculum vitae can be suppressed. From the starting of her teenage life, she wants to do something for her country. She wants to join the NDA after grade 12. But she has grown up in such a strict life where food for 3 times usually and study for waking hours are only the world. So, she herself does not know how breaking all the rules of her father, she will go out to work for the people of the country. She is sometimes surprised to think that how a calm and ordinary girl bound by rules and regulations can go on an adventure and remove the misery of a family like hers by giving a child an ample opportunity to grow up in a healthy and suitable normal environment. 

Many of the times, she thinks it is not so easy for her to escape from his father and begin new chapters under safe shelter in her life. Because nowadays her such type of thinking is useless as she is living in such a world where safety for female ones is in a big question.  

By the way, the main cause of her waking up so early today is attached with her patriotic thoughts. Because today is 26th January, Republic day of India. She is now grade 11. But she could not be able to attend today's school's function as the function will not be held in school. Because now it's lockdown period due to COVID. 

She joined a new school after her 10th board. And it is a new interest and feeling to participate in school function on this very day to any school student. But today such type of special feelings to go to school did not come to her since she has never attended her previous schools' such functions or participated in any event before.

Actually she has been thinking to celebrate this day since some days before. But she has no idea. She wanted to make the day special. Therefore, she went to bed early and couldn't sleep well due to her thoughts.

May be due to this reason she woke up today so early. In fact, while observing the scenic beauty of sunrise, she thought how to do any special on this very day. 

She thought many more things which was not possible at home for her at that time. Then she brushed her teeth longer than other days. Then, she lazily took a book and a practice khata and sat on the bed.

In spite of being bound to her daily routine, the thought of making something special on this Republic day was not gone. So opening some pages of the book, she said to her mind, "Really, mother is right that I daydream a lot. In the end, because of these family problems I become so crazy that I've finally resorted in social service to escape from these problems!!"

"However, don't think so much about these, don't take so much pressure in your head, Anatha!!", she tried to convince herself not to think about this.

 

"Mother always advises me to study, study and study as study is only the thing which changes your life completely as you wish. So study, concentrate in your study, Anathaaaaa!!!", she tried a lot to concentrate in study.

    Some times later, she planned to make a handmade National Flag to celebrate the day at home from her mental angle. But she has no specific things except pencil colors for handcrafts. So she cut some papers from her practice khata and shaped the papers as Our National Flag. Then she draws outline on it and colored it with those pencils which are her only possessions of paintings.

    During her work of making it, her father (who's continuosly sitting before her after lunch)

said to her mother, "Since then, our girl has been cutting paper, painting, scattering books around!!"

"What are you doing? Aren't you studying any more?", asked his father to her.

Then she got scared a little. Because her father does not know anything except her study. She let out a little smile.

But her father repeated the same question again. Then she replied, "No, dad. I'm not studying my syllabus now. See, I have made a little flag.

He replied nothing and just observed her work. Her mother says, "Bahh.. wonderful!! Then where will you place it after making this?"

"There, Ma... In the showcase!", replied Anatha in a smiley face pointing her fingers towards the showcase.

"Then you will have to make a stand with this, won't it? Where will you get the items for standing?", her mother asks.

"Yeah, Ma. I'll manage", Anatha told her randomly.

     

     All the day she spent to make that. At last she finished the flag at about 7.15 pm. She managed a thick sponge to support the flag on desk or any hard surface.

Her father just observed her works without any comment. Her mother appreciated it.

After placing the Flag in showcase, she said to herself, "For the first time on this day, I made something. Every year I think so but it's not possible for the study and tuition pressure. But from now and on I want to celebrate such days by making crafts, paintings every year. Please God bless me..."

She was refreshed to make it and thought, "Yess, I can do something."

"Ohh!! Again I consider myself a special person. Please God, let me think as a ordinary people", she prayed to God.

Actually, she has a lack of confidence. She grew up in such an environment where her thoughts are valueless as she is under a person and not directly, but indirectly she is treated as a girl and where overtaking the present guardian doing any work even speaking against the present guardian make the environment so violent that's not tolerable. So she never dared not to do any work overtaking her present guardian. She wants to lead a peaceful life, but that peace did not come to her life still.

In fact she believes that the Peace never comes to her life. So she wants to do social work for bringing the Peace in the lives of the children who are in the same situation just like her and even worse than her.

"I know I've no quality to join the Indian Army for both physical and mental health. But one day, if I'm able to earn something honestly, I'll do something for the honest ordinary people", Anatha wishes on the day.

Actually she has some physical problems cap-a-pie Sometimes those bacame serious issues. She has a short height whereas a good height is necessary for joining the such type of civil services. And she is not a person of good mental health. She is very sentimental, in fact sometimes she gets depressed in her mother's rebuke.

   

Besides she has no family support to join the Army. According to her thoughts, as her father is so conservative and strict, her father does not allow her to join the such type of jobs. Her father wants that she will be a doctor, but she has no interest in medical line though she has biology subject due to her father's pressurisation. So she doesn't know how to convince her father not to settle in medical line, with this, convincing about NDA is more luxurious thought for her.

    On the other hand, Anatha has no physical support of anyone except her mother who will fight for her wishes and whose convincing power will be acceptable to her father automatically.

   That's why, in spite of longing for joining Army, she thinks she has no capacity to join the NDA. And also the written exam preparation for NDA is not so easy just like passing the board exams. As she is very lazy and she cannot study for a long time due to her attraction of mobile phone which came after her 10th board exam, she thinks it a hard ones like getting Government jobs in this digital world.

  So, let's see... Will she join the NDA in future?
