Home Alone Part-1

It was the first time that Rob was alone at home. His parents would never leave him alone even for some hours. But this had been an emergency. His grandfather had suddenly taken ill and because of his school, Rob couldn't leave with them.

Rob's mother had been very worried while leaving as she had never left him alone, but Rob assured her that he would be fine and anyway it was just for the night, as in the morning his aunt would reach from England.

Rob spent the afternoon and evening playing on the computer and then finishing his homework. But with nightfall, all his courage seemed to be disappearing. He thought first he would sleep with the light on but then he couldn't get sleep with the lights shining on his face, so he switched it off.

Rob started getting frightened. While tossing and turning on the bed he happened to look towards the window and his mind started conjuring up all sorts of shapes in the darkness. He told himself it was just the tree outside and nothing else but yet he was scared.

It was then that he heard the noise in the hall. Rob was alarmed. He thought of going and seeing what was making the noise but he couldn't get up from the bed. Finally, he mustered up enough courage to go and investigate. He went into the hall and there was the noise once again. He quickly switched on the light and what he saw shocked him.
