Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side

It was a dark night and the wolves were howling; two neighboring houses were locked. Those people were anxiously waiting for the night to pass. There was pin drop silence. Lisa was sitting by her balcony thinking about her neighbor. He was so good in academics and she was a branded as a ‘brat’.

Suddenly, a man who lived several yards away screamed at the top of his voice “Fire, fire!!” Both the families rushed towards the man’s house for help and saw that he was stuck inside the house which was ablaze. Lisa ran into the house and helped the others in rescuing the man.

John, the boy who she was jealous of, was looking at her with surprise. His eyes revealed his feelings of admiration for Lisa. They looked at each other for a brief moment. Then, as if willed by some inexplicable thought, they both walked towards each other. They paused and looked at each other’s eyes said “I envy you” in unison.
