24 October 2022, which is marked to be everyone's favorite festival "Diwali". Well, for me it was a lousy day (no offense). The last day was hectic for me - even though it was Sunday, I had many works as there was an opening ceremony for our hardware store. I was swamped with handling stuff that was required for the opening ceremony. That's the reason the next day I was feeling grumpy. I woke in the morning around 8:30 am (Monday- Diwali day). It's a usual practice in Indian families that whenever there would be festivals, it is mandatory to wake up early in the morning. Well, 8:30 am isn't an early time to wake up but it is okay in my case. After brushing my teeth, I sat on my couch as usual and then I checked the newspaper for any exciting offers or stories regarding this festive season.

When I hear about Diwali, there are a few stories and essays I could remember from back in my school days. Diwali or Deepavali is known as the festival of lights. Several mythological aspects have taught us why exactly we celebrate Diwali. On this day, we would see many newspapers editorial pages filled with articles regarding this festival. All those pages have one line in common," Diwali is all about burning away the darkness within you".

Well, the very first and foremost thing that rattled inside my mind was, " can we live without darkness in this world". Well, from my end it would be a big "no". The point is we can't actually sustain ourselves in this world without having darkness within us. This may sound to be brutally honest but apparently, that's the truth!

Sun is the ultimate source of brightness over the entire universe. It is also a most important natural resource for mankind. But at the same time, we are aware of harmful radiation from the sun, which can cause skin cancer and many other diseases. Just imagine if there won't any night then we would be exposed to those harmful radiations 24×7. That is why after day, we have evening and night. We can't sustain without darkness. The same goes for people as well.

We live in an era where injustice, brutality, and hoaxers are rolled into one to dismantle the peace of the world. So, we can't be just honest or saint every time. According to the Chinese symbol Yin-yang, there's light and dark, day and night, and good and evil. Yin-yang refers to a concept originating in ancient Chinese philosophy where opposite forces are seen as interconnected and counterbalancing.

So, it is absolutely fine for us to possess both the personalities of good and evil. In this way, we can bring the tip toward balance. Let's just accept our darkness and not feel embarrassed for having it. It's better to embrace the darkness in a way that could make us bold rather than suppressing it in a way that would make us fragile.
