"We should send our daughter to England for her higher studies of Law. " Said Rama's father (Mr. Obery). Rama was listening to all the conversations of her parents. She got very excited hearing it.
Mr. Obery was a rich man in Bombay. He was a popular man and a good friend of the British General of Bombay. He had spent thousands of money and spend her daughter to England for her higher studies of Law. At England, Rama studied very hard for four years and passed with flying colors
When she reached India back Mr. Obery was very proud of her daughter. Rama showed the certificate to her father that specified that Rama had passed her exam with the first rank. When Rama reached home she was on the ninth cloud. When she looked outside her window she was shocked to see that the British tax collectors were torturing the INDIAN FARMERS who could not pay the heavy taxes imposed by the British due to the failure of the crops. the next day when she read the newspaper she found that the royal ring had now become puppet rulers in the hands of the Britishers.
After a few days Rama asked her father" Dad can I become a social reformer and help the needy once?" Mr. Obery was shocked by hearing all that. Mr. Obery told Rama, " Rama I have spent a lot of money on your education and always wanted you to be a successful person in your life, I never expected this from you Rama!" There was a huge quarrel between the father and the daughter for a couple of days. But Mr. Obery also felt bad for his INDIAN FRIENDS deep down daughter in his heart. So he got an idea that he could convince her daughter by telling that he could offer her a job of a judge at the high court of Bombay and she was smart enough to understand what his father tried to convey to her.
The very next day Mr. Obery offered Rama a job as a judge at the high court of Bombay. Rama thought about the proposal for a while and a thought struck her mind that
She would get the job, she could indirectly help the people. In this way, her father's dream would also come true. Then Rama told a YES to her father. Mr. Obery gave a sweet smile to his daughter and called the General for Rama's job.
