Winter As A Child
Winter As A Child
As the rains come down from the heavens
I watch puddles of water fill up with my childhood
I remember the days I used to play with paper boats
floating them across the riverbanks
Carrying umbrella adding extra weight
to the luggage we carried,oh what a fate
it wasn't something dreamy or great
while missing the bus and going late
I remember enjoying the rain
with caffeine and sugar grains
then my eyes would blink
on seeing the lightning strike.
how could I forget about the thunder
which brought noise during midnight
the room would be quiet
with the sound of wind growing louder
Now looking back at my childhood
I wish I had spent more time
just to sit out and watch the rain
instead of reciting the boring rhymes
