When I Came Back
When I Came Back

I walked in the field
Saw the sun rise
The meadows covered with grass
Listened to the chirping
Fresh air blew my hair
I smelled the soaked earth
walked on the edge of the field
I twirled around
I set a foot in the green grass
It tickled my feet
I quivered
I floundered till the end
Tears filled my eyes
Took a last look
And hastened away
I never thought I needed to leave
It was time to go
I thought I would return again
But when I came back after two years
It was not the same
No field
No meadows
No fresh air
No tall green grass
Just a pastel- colored, faded, diminished
