What If?

What of that smile we didn't return?

Those bridges we let burn?

That answer which was a no,

That lover you let go.

What of that choice you once made?

And those to whom, goodbye you bade.

The one thing that shaped you,

What if it weren't to?

What if life went a different way,

Would I have happier today?

A life where the wrongs done,

Are not even one.

A parallel life I lead,

With all the perfect days that I agreed.

A life with all the 'What ifs?'

In my mind is where it is.
