As the night goes on a pair of curious eyes stare

Thoughts flowing through her head beyond compare

Seeping through the slit of the curtain the moonlight glares

Such a simple light, she could bear

Nothing thought of her usual flare

Mere arrows shot through her sight, the World of Despair.

Reaching her frail hand to touch the cold night

The frozen breeze shook her body in fright

Not knowing what might be right

She dared not try putting up a fight

One day she wished she'd reach up the array of clouds in the light

Following the wind as though she were a kite

Though she knew, thoughts as unreal as such are tight.

Sighing, she began to sing

Her voice reaching out to whoever the notes managed to cling

Taken out by the ring and ding

She prayed one day she feasted like a king.

Closing her eyes to the thought she held so dear

She holds out her hand to the world despite all the fear

Knowing that people like her would hear

Sight she knew that they were her peers.

At last, a long-awaited smile

One such that could be photographed and stored in a file.

Now known she, none more the trial

She managed to run away from her own denial.

She now lives a casual life.

The one for which she had to strive

The care taken to complete the drive

The one step she took and managed to derive.
