โThe Protective Shield Rakhi
โ
The Rakhi shines with the sun and moon as its witness,
As the innocent sister dresses up and ties it on her brotherโs wrist,
Entrusting him to be her lifelong protector.
โOnce a year returns this ideal day of Rakhi Purnima to the earth,
Reminding every heart to honor and uphold the dignity of a sister.
โThe bond between brother and sister is sweet right from birth;
Sweets from her hands bring color to his face,
And sweet words flow from the brother's lips.
โFree from any impurity, it holds only the brother's comforting, heartfelt affection;
The sisterโs courage grows at home, in the forest, and on the open road,
Ensuring no tears ever fall from her eyes.
โAn eternal bliss fills the sister's heart as she ties the Rakhi on her brother's wrist,
While the guardians of the ten directions and the eight Vasus shower blossoms with their holy blessing.
โThe chest of Lord Balabhadra swells with pride alongside the Great Lord Jagannath,
When their beloved sister Subhadra ties the Rakhi upon their divine wrists with joyful enthusiasm.
โI bow my head today and pray before the Master of the Universe:
May this immortal tale of pure, sacred love in Raksha Bandhan endure until the end of time.
