Unity?
Unity?
Standing tall in metal and stone
Towering the globe in glory, I shine
Praised and hailed for sewing States
I look now into the Unity so called.
Towers I see, I see asphalt,
Trodden and mowed down greens
Giant rocks so Lilliput now
I look into the march towards growth.
I smile, I praise, I pray- thanks
To the change, to the transformations I see
But where have they, the un-sheltered gone?
I search for their placement and whine
Beneath the towers and the stone
By the fading rivers and the farms
It pains to see'em stripped to bone
Baking under the heat, from above and beneath
I see them awaiting a shower or alms.
Oh! for a Nation that marches fast
This sight so piercing, draws a blank-
Both staring at me, from the divided banks.
Seeking an answer, I stand tall
Flanked with questions and apathy
And shine of brighter Nation
I stand so heavy, I stand so tall.
