Unheard Sacrifice
Unheard Sacrifice
On my trip to royal palaces and forts
I learned, one king had many consorts.
In a big palace, they had their tiny palaces,
To view the outer world there are many little casements.
Several maids served them mostly as friends
The King used to visit one among them at nights.
This was the tale narrated by appointed guides.
I only thought about the co-wives,
Or, the liked - disliked companions.
How once the 'lovely princesses' of royal families,
Turned 'soon to be forgotten' one among many queens.
So lonely, isolated, and must be always depressed,
So many married women sharing one husband.
As the prize of victory, for sake of false honour, they're conned
Under one roof but with no loyalty, trust in that nuptial bond
They were unaware of the King's next move, completely clueless
When and from where he would add a new, soon to be deserted, lass
They gave birth children to continue the dynasty for the century
Nothing was bestowed on them, mostly unmentioned in history.
Yes, that was the cost of living a queen's life
In all historic places, you can hear unheard sacrifice.
