To Be Home Once Again

We clap for the world, stand for the winners,

We forget the real champions, our real fighters.

We salute the rich and famous, we look at them in awe,

We forget the lives laid down, the ones lost at war.

The men playing games, are lifted in words of grace,

Though our men fighting enemy lines should take a victor’s place.

Let’s all come as one, to salute the stars of our nation,

For the gods too shall give them, the last standing ovation.

Our headlines shall now read, the glory of our country men,

It shall speak about their hope, "to be home once again".
