There She Is

There she was, standing tall in front of people

Speaking and taking in lifeless faces.

I was about to shut down completely

When the word “Dogmatic” caught my attention

What in hell did that even mean?

Wish I knew,

 As she preferred to use the word for the entire speech.

There she was, drowning in her own words 

Shutting everyone else out from her world

I saw in her eyes, felt in her voice

That she was aware she knew the best

And believe me, I didn’t understand a single word she had said

But I understood one thing ,

that she was going to be my inspiration.

There she was, sitting at the back of the class

Reading a book resting on her lap

She won’t lift her head, she won’t care the world around her

A faint smile crossed my face, thinking

What world was she enjoying out there?

And right then I made my mind,

That one day I will want to see the world through her eyes

There she was, sitting across me with a plate full of food

Welcoming the food with her twinkling eyes

And that made me wonder what she saw that i didn’t

She started mingling different varieties on her plate like a pro,

As if she knew the right blend to make the food tastier

I sat there watching her,

Only to leave my mind blank and my food bland

There she was, in the balcony facing the sky and admiring the stars

Telling me about things that stirred curiosity in my heart

Her words full of passion kept me glued to her

That night we talked about universe, spirituality, family

And spilling out our secrets to each other without any fear

Which only made me feel,

More connected and more comfortable with her.

There she was, sitting beside me in our secret place,

Comforting my broken heart, trying hard to stop my tears

Humming all the nice words in my ears 

And making me the best person on this planet that she ever cared

She painted my life that promised me,

Her being there, supporting me, motivating me, irritating me, fighting with me

Just being beside me ,

And there she is 

With me

As she promised
