I was reading some old books

Of British and history.

I was reading old books

Of colonies and mystery.

Tears ran out of my eye,

The struggle...The Massacre...

It was the time, not to lie;

To save land of acres.

I was reading some old books

Of movement and stories...

Tears ran out my eye,

The movement.... The strikes...

Very courageous time , no time to lie;

To get country shining with lights.

People roared out selflessly,

For freedom and Constitution.

Just with God blessing,

Broke and fired the institutions.

It was only time

To bring golden bird back.

Tried like a slime

Without any lack.

And got the freedom

With republic India ,

Unfurled Indian flag on the dome

And back with us our India.

Getting freedom in mind ,

Faith in words,

Pride in hearts,

Let's salute nation on republic day.
