The Older I get

The Older I get

I am growing older, day by day,

Figuring out new things along my way.

From fearing darkness,

To falling in its glow which is sparkless.

From toys to books, priority changes,

It's a new way, my life arranges.

My friends and I used to play,

But as I get older I leant to stay away.

There is no need to please anyone, I'm walking free,

Because they are all to chatter and show fake love towards me,

That's all I see.

I used to be mad, but now I know,

‘Sometimes it's best to let someone go’,

It's what you all learn when you grow,

Even if it makes you move on slow.

Happiness turns to darkness,

Life's paths shifts and stays,

But through the dark, a spark of hope,

still shines each day

Growing older brings some pain,

A bittersweet and steady rain,

But in my heart, I hold on tight,

To the memories that bring me light.
