The Monsoon Days Of The Year

The clouds gloomy and gray,

“Oh, come on! When is the rain going to come?” I say.

Just then, the electricity turned off,

“Oh great! Just at the right time!” I bluff.

I go to the garden to water my plants,

But, my mom commanded me to do maths.

I sighed, and walked to the table, grabbing the pen,

Not realizing that the rain just started then.

I looked at the window with my big bundles of books,

But my mom, a great cook, started preparing dinner.

The people were carrying kaleidoscopic patterns of umbrellas,

Just then I spotted a kid eating a banana.

The boy was so cute,

But then, the smell of butter clouded over my room, I puked.

I started wearing a raincoat, and climbed to the terrace,

The clouds of rain slowly dispersed.

“But- but- noooo,” I sobbed,

But then, a beautiful rainbow just popped.

People admired the rainbow with big smiles,

Monsoon’s magic, so pure, serene.

The whispers of the rain fade away from my mind,

The electricity came back again at the right time.

I started to realize that rain can be very beautiful,

To learn from whispers of rain, can be very mindful.
