The Land

Seeking soil for a serene survival,

We lead our lives so clutched with land.

No matter how our elders fell;

You crazy grounds have your own demand. 

You give the homeless a place to stay;

Nevertheless, they say they just can’t repay. 

You make them taste the tingle of joy,

silence shone where heavens employ. 

Farmers grow their fruitful crops,

Under the daring sun and rusty rain. 

You are the shelter where agony stops;

Though countless deaths have gone insane. 

I say this because you have another face,

Tormenting humans innumerable ways.

You put on a mask that’s so arrogant;

Have you a heart that could ever repent. 

People fight with the deepest thirst;

Unveiling evil from their very own souls.

The greed in the heart have made it worst,

Your alter ego reaps selfish goals. 

You are so good but at the same time bad;

Oh land, think of bliss you’ve brought and had. 

It’s high time trusting a lifeless prize;

Till the very eternity of our closing eyes.
